What we do

Six things, done properly, instead of everything done quickly.

We turn down work that needs a trade we do not have in the van. If your job needs a plasterer, a roofer or an electrician first, we will say so at the walkthrough and give you a name.

Colours

A chip the size of a stamp tells you almost nothing.

So here it is at wall scale. Pick one and the room repaints. These eight are the colours we keep mixed and get asked for most — we will happily match anything from any brand.

The house chart

The one clients ask for after they see it in a stairwell. Eggshell only.

Trim and ceiling shown in Milled Plaster FC-01. Screens lie about colour — we bring brushed-out A4 samples to the walkthrough so you can see it in your own light before deciding.

How it goes

Five steps, and no surprises in the middle of them.

  1. A walkthrough, not a guess

Someone who will actually be on the job comes out, measures, opens a window frame, and checks what is under the last coat. Twenty minutes, usually.

  2. A written fixed price

Itemised by room, with the products named and the number of coats stated. It holds for 60 days. If we find something behind a wall we tell you before we spend your money.

  3. Prep — the boring part

Roughly 60% of the hours on any good paint job happen before the finish coat. Masking, filling, sanding, priming. This is the part that decides whether it still looks right in year six.

  4. Two coats, minimum

No exceptions, no "the second coat is extra". Same crew from the first day to the last so nobody has to be told twice where the dog sleeps.

  5. We walk it together

You point at anything you are not happy with while we still have the ladders up. Snags get fixed that day, not scheduled for a return visit.

They found the leak that had been cracking our stairwell for six years, told us to get a roofer in first, and rescheduled us for the spring. Nobody else did that.

Our kitchen doors went away on a Monday and came back the next Friday looking like they came out of a factory. I have looked for brush marks. There are none.

Three quotes, and Fenwick were the only ones who wrote down which primer they were using. Came in $190 under estimate because a room needed less filling than they thought.

Before you ask

The four we get every week.

Anything else, ring (845) 402-1178. Mon–Fri, 7am–4pm. Estimates on Saturdays.

How long until you can start?

Interior work is usually booked 3–5 weeks out. Exteriors fill up by April for the whole season, so those are worth asking about early. Small repairs and single rooms we can often slot in sooner.

Do we need to buy the paint?

No. Trade pricing on materials is passed through at what we pay, listed on the quote. If you would rather supply your own, that is fine — we will tell you honestly whether it will hold up.

Do you paint occupied houses?

Most of our work is in houses people are living in. We work room by room, seal doorways, use low-odour products indoors, and put everything back at the end of each day so you can use the space.

What happens if something goes wrong later?

Three-year workmanship warranty in writing. If a seam opens or a patch flashes through, call and we come back. Manufacturer defects we chase down with the supplier on your behalf.
